Ship Recycling Plan (SRP) Approval
Every Ship Recycling Facility (SRF) in Bangladesh is required to prepare and submit a Ship Recycling Plan (SRP) in compliance with the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships (HKC 2009) and the Ship Recycling Act 2018.
The Bangladesh Ship Recycling Board (BSRB) evaluates and approves SRPs to ensure:
- Safe and environmentally sound recycling processes.
- Proper identification and handling of hazardous materials.
- Compliance with national and international regulations.
- Worker safety, emergency preparedness, and community protection.
How to Apply
Ship Recycling Facilities can apply for SRP approval by submitting:
- Facility compliance documents (as per BSRB checklist).
- Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) of the incoming vessel.
- Operational safety and waste management protocols.
