About Us
The Bangladesh Ship Recycling Board (BSRB) was established on 25 February 2020 with a 14-member committee. The Secretary of the Ministry of Industries serves as the Chairman, while the Additional Secretary (Ship Recycling, BIRA, BEKHA & BIM) is assigned as the Director General of the Board.

Ship recycling is no longer a local industry; it is part of a global safety chain. The Bangladesh Ship Recycling Board is strengthening international partnerships to ensure compliance, transparency, and knowledge-sharing.
Through dialogues with the IMO, Lloyd’s Register Foundation, EU, and regional partners, Bangladesh is ensuring its ship recycling sector is future-proof. Worker training, digital safety dashboards, and coastal community health projects are being shared as best-practice pilots for other nations.
BSRB believes Bangladesh has the potential to move from being a participant in the global ship recycling sector to being a leader. This leadership comes from openness, partnerships, and a relentless focus on safety and sustainability.
